Convicted felon captured after battery & escape attempts, search for accomplice continues

South Lake Tahoe, CA- On January 28th, South Lake Tahoe Police Department received a report of a domestic violence incident that occurred.  The victim, a 33-year-old female, reported that her husband, Christopher Hendrickson 25-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident, had punched her in the face while in a verbal argument and threatened to kill her. Hendrickson was later located and arrested without incident for felony threats and violating the terms of his parole.

Hendrickson is currently on parole and has a history of weapons charges, battery causing traumatic injury, and threatening law enforcement.  Hendrickson is on parole under the Post Release Community Supervision program (Proposition 47).  Hendrickson is supervised by the El Dorado County Probation Department.  Hendrickson was released from custody on January 30th on his own recognizance after his arraignment.

On February 3rd, the original 33-year-old victim contacted SLTPD and reported that Hendrickson battered her again.  When officers attempted to contact Hendrickson, he fled and was able to escape.   The investigation continued till February 4th at approximately 9:00 am when officers located Hendrickson at the Lake Tahoe Inn (3520 Lake Tahoe Blvd).  When officers made contact, Hendrickson and another male, later identified as Teofilo Uribe, fled the hotel room.  Hendrickson forced his way into the lobby and rear residence at the Beverly Lodge (3480 Lake Tahoe Blvd), where the manager and his family were.  Hendrickson was apprehended by SLTPD officers who deployed a Tazer. Uribe was able to escape.

32-year-old Teofilo Uribe has a long history with the SLTPD, including kidnapping, drugs, theft, and weapons violations.  Uribe currently has three outstanding warrants for his arrest that includes possession of a firearm by a felon.  Uribe’s whereabouts are unknown at this time. 

During Hendrickson’s arrest, he sustained minor injuries from the application of a Tazer device, and per SLTPD protocol, Hendrickson was transported to Barton hospital for treatment.  When being transfer back to a patrol car, Hendrickson was able to escape custody and fled through the nearby neighborhood.  With the assistance of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s office, Hendrickson was re-captured and booked into the El Dorado County Jail.  Hendrickson was charged with resisting arrest, escape from custody, corporal injury to his spouse, willful cruelty to a child, forcible entry into a property, and felony vandalism.
