- Community Survey
Public Engagement and Input
The City of South Lake Tahoe has teamed up with the National Research Center at Polco to better inform and engage residents, ensuring community priorities are representative and impactful. Residents have a new way to get involved in City decision making. In partnering with Polco, an engagement and data analytics company, the City of South Lake Tahoe can engage community members beyond public meetings and track progress over time.
Additionally, Polco offers a critical layer of safety and anonymity to respondents while providing the City the trusted insights required to make data-driven decisions.
The National Community Survey™ (The NCS™)
The NCS is a cost-effective survey of resident opinion and an important benchmarking tool that allows for comparison among communities. The NCS provides a statistically valid survey of resident opinions about community and services provided by local government. The NCS results give a comprehensive look at the City’s strengths, areas of improvement, and residents’ priorities. Over 500 communities participate in the NCS, allowing the City of South Lake Tahoe to compare ratings to municipalities nationwide. It is the only resident survey endorsed by the International City/County Management Association and the National League of Cities.
