4th of July Parade

Join the City of South Lake Tahoe in celebrating our nation's birthday and honoring our local heroes at the annual 4th of July Parade!
DON'T MISS THIS!!
Be lakeside at 10 AM for an honorary Military Flyover courtesy of the 152nd Airlift Wing (The High Rollers) from the Nevada Air National Guard.
NEW THIS YEAR!
The inaugural Best of the Parade Awards. Entries will be judged on the use of parade theme, overall appearance, originality & creativity, use of music/sound, and crowd appeal. A judging panel will be scoring all parade entries and trophies will be awarded for the following categories:
- Best Float Entry
- Best Walking Entry
- Best Youth Entry
- Best Decorated Vehicle(s)
- History & Heritage Award

2022 Parade Information
The parade will begin at 10 am and head West from Ski Run Blvd. to Al Tahoe Blvd. along Hwy 50.
The parade will travel up Al Tahoe Blvd. and conclude at Bijou Community Park.
10:00 AM Parade Start
Westbound Lane: Hwy 50 and Ski Run Blvd.
Military Flyover: Courtesy of the 152nd Airlift Wing from the Nevada Air National Guard
The flyover will take place over the Lakeview Commons area at 10:00 AM.
Parade Grand Marshall: Retired South Lake Tahoe Fire Chief, Jeff Meston
South Lake Tahoe is grateful for Chief Meston's many years of service to our community.
Musical Performances: The Cash Only Band and The Sierra Gypsies
You can't miss South Tahoe Refuse & Recycling and MV Trucking as they roll on by with some of our favorite local bands in tow.
Honorary Guests: Representatives from our sister city Ameca, Mexico
Cheer on our friends that came all the way from Mexico to celebrate with us.

Pick up a copy of the Friday paper to find out who our 2022 winners are.
Viewing locations will be along Hwy 50 between Ski Run Blvd. and Al Tahoe Blvd.
Premium Viewing Areas:
Ski Run Blvd. will be closed to through traffic from Lake Tahoe Blvd (Hwy 50) to Tamarack Ave starting at 8:00 AM. Ski Run Blvd. will open again at approximately 11:00 AM.
Roads intersecting with Lake Tahoe Blvd (Hwy 50) along the parade road will be closed to through traffic heading westbound beginning at 9:30 AM. The eastbound lanes of Hwy 50 will remain open with slowed traffic control. Roads will open back up once the parade concludes. Expect the road to be fully re-opened by 2:00 PM.
