[ARCHIVED] Successful Neighborhood Clean-up Day Held in Al Tahoe Neighborhoods

Thank you to all of the volunteers who participated in last Saturday’s fall clean-up in the Al Tahoe neighborhood. The event was a huge success and brought neighbors together while pitching in and cleaning up each others yards, shared roadways and Regan Beach. Special thanks to CalTrans for donating the Adopt-a-Highway bags and volunteers from the California Conservation Corps in supporting this important community effort.

This event was a result of a Neighborhood Service Team meeting held this summer where residents voiced their desire to host a clean-up day. The formation of the Neighborhood Service Team is a valuable initiative empowering neighbors to get together and create positive change in their neighborhoods while working together for the good of all, with common visions, goals and objectives.

Neighborhood gatherings can be useful when making a neighborhood list of assets, including existing and potential members, partners, etc., or when planning a neighborhood service or improvement project – whatever inspires you and your neighbors.

Does this sound like a fun event to you? Would you like to schedule a neighborhood clean-up day or other community enrichment event? If so, contact the Community Outreach Volunteer Coordinator at (530) 542-6093 or tfranklin@cityofslt.us
