[ARCHIVED] Recreation Department Offers STAR Camps for Summer Camp

The City of South Lake Tahoe Recreation Department is offering a South Tahoe Adventure Camp (STAR) for summer camp.

The STAR Youth Camp is designed for children ages 6-12 years (entering grades 1st-6th), Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30pm, June 20th – August 19th, 2016. The STAR Camps’ slogan is..."NO CHILD LEFT INSIDE!” Our mission is to provide an active, healthy, and safe environment for youth to learn and play. We focus on inspiring a love for the outdoors through exposure to the natural playground in and around the Tahoe region.

The structured programs include a strong emphasis on promoting and recognizing positive behavior, fostering meaningful friendships, and developing children's self-confidence and leadership skills. We continue to encourage kids to get outside, play games, and make healthy choices.

The cost of the STAR Youth Camp is $35/day or $150/week. There is an additional cost for some "Fun Trips" at no more than $10 per child. A 10% discount is offered for multiple children registered from the same family. Drop-in’s are welcome and based on availability. Pre-camp care is available at an additional cost of $8/hour. Camp Care punch cards may be purchased on-site and redeemed in 15 minute increments as needed throughout the summer.
