The City of South Lake Tahoe, in consolidation with the El Dorado County Elections Department, will be conducting an election on November 8, 2016 for two (2) City Councilmembers. The filing period opened on July 18, 2016 and closes on August 12, 2016. One of the eligible incumbents, Councilmember Hal Cole, officially notified the City today that he will not be filing for candidacy for the November 8th election. Therefore a five (5) day extension will be added, making the filing closing date Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 5pm.
All interested persons must be a registered voter and reside within the City of South Lake Tahoe at the time nomination papers are issued.
