[ARCHIVED] City Announces Selection of Mark Gibbs as Airport Manager

City Manager Nancy Kerry announced the selection of Mark Gibbs as the new Airport Manager for Lake Tahoe Airport (TVL).  Mr. Gibbs first day with the City of South Lake Tahoe was Monday, November 28th.

In announcing the selection, Ms. Kerry said: “Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and professional expertise to Lake Tahoe Airport with over twelve years of experience in all facets of airport operations and planning. The City is very fortunate Mark is joining the City’s Management Team and we look forward to his leadership at the airport.”  

Gibbs earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation management and his master’s degree in airport management and development. He was most recently the Director of the Elko Regional Airport prior to joining the City.  

In discussing his selection as Airport Manager Gibbs said, “I see tremendous opportunities to expand the community benefits conferred by this airport to the citizens of South Lake Tahoe.  I am excited to manage this facility in a sustainable manner.  It is Lake Tahoe Airport’s untapped potential that drew me to South Lake Tahoe.  I am extremely excited about serving in this community and look forward to engaging with the community in making this airport valued by all”.
