[ARCHIVED] Groundbreaking Scheduled for Bijou Marketplace on August 7th

The City of South Lake Tahoe invites the community to join us for a groundbreaking ceremony of the Bijou Marketplace, formerly known as the Bijou Park Creek Watershed Management project, a.k.a, The Knights Inn and Southwest Corner, on Monday, August 7th at 2pm.

Bijou Marketplace, LLC, the owner of the project, will be announcing the primary tenant during a groundbreaking ceremony which will take place on site at the former Knights Inn and the public is invited to attend.

The designs for the Bijou Marketplace are a mountain theme, including wood and stone materials which correspond to the City's Design Guidelines.

The undevelopable portions of the site are still under the ownership of the City and planned improvements will increase ecosystem/watershed filtration processes, restore parcels located in a Stream Environment Zone (SEZ), reduce nutrients and sediment into Lake Tahoe, reduce localized flooding and initiate larger watershed restoration efforts.

Expected attendees include; Bijou Marketplace, LLC, the primary tenant of Bijou Marketplace (to be announced), City of South Lake Tahoe elected officials, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, California Tahoe Conservancy, the Tahoe Chamber and the community of South Lake Tahoe is invited to attend.
