Installation of new sod was completed today at the Community Playfields located at 1300 Al Tahoe Blvd. The sod replacement was a result of damage to the field which occurred during the SnowGlobe music festival in December 2017. The event promoters covered 100% of the costs to replace the sod at an approximate cost of $201,000.
The contractor for the project was Garden Shop Nursery Landscaping Division, Inc. and the work started on April 23, 2018 and was completed today.
City staff has enclosed the area with orange fencing and ask that the community not walk on the field for approximately 30 days while the sod is actively growing. We appreciate the community’s patience and support and will advise when the orange fencing is removed and the sod is sufficiently intact with regrowth.
