South Lake Tahoe, CA- A Christmas concert and gift giveaway will help local families have a happier holiday season this year. The 9th Annual Christmas Giveaway is back, and bigger than ever.

The event, hosted by local musician Dreda Dre, will include Christmas carols performed by the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Youth Choir belting out holiday cheer.

“The event has grown significantly over the years,” said Lauren Thomaselli, Recreation Superintendent for the City of South Lake Tahoe. “Many local businesses contribute in some way, and the City is happy to do its part to make a difference.”

The event mission is to provide local families with a little holiday cheer in a fun and festive atmosphere. Toys and clothes will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis. Santa will be there to take pictures.

“The city has been involved in this event for years, and we are proud to be hosting it yet again,” said Thomaselli, “Great entertainment, great giveaways to local families, what’s not to love!”

The city will host the “Christmas Giveaway,” from Saturday, December 22nd from 3:00PM-7:00PM at the Rec Center at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. It’s free to attend and open to people of all ages.
