South Lake Tahoe, CA- New members of South Lake Tahoe City Council and a new City Clerk were sworn in at yesterday’s City Council meeting.

Cody Bass, Devin Middlebrook, and Tamara Wallace were sworn in as the newest members of South Lake Tahoe’s City Council yesterday. Susan Blankenship was also sworn in as the City Clerk.
South Lake Tahoe also has a new Mayor, as Councilmember Brook Laine was selected by the Council to serve in the top spot. Jason Collin will be the next Mayor Pro Tem.

“We congratulate all of our newly elected officials, and our new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem,” said City Manager Frank Rush. “The new City Council is already hard at work to keep South Lake Tahoe moving forward.”

Council also decided to change some meeting times to 5:30 PM in an effort to make it easier for people who work during the day to make it to a South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting at night.
Now, the first meeting of each month will be held at 9:00 AM. In months where 2 meetings are scheduled, the second one will be held at 5:30 PM.

“Council understands that everyone can’t make it to a morning meeting,” said Rush. “Council has made this change in an effort to make the city more open, more accessible and more transparent, and encourages our citizens to participate in City government.”

The first 5:30 meeting of the year will happen in late February. A full 2019 meeting schedule is available here.
