South Lake Tahoe, CA- A Winter Storm and Blizzard Warning are still in effect for the South
Lake Tahoe Area this morning. With this much snow comes concern about flooding.
The City has two locations open for people to come to get sandbags if they need them.
- • City Public Works Yard, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.
- • Fire Station 3, 2101 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
You will need to fill your own bags and transport them back to your home. Please leave the shovels so that other residents may use them and try to limit the number of bags to 10 per visit.
Access to sandbags is available during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm.
As a reminder conditions are expected to deteriorate through the day, giving way to blizzard-like conditions. Drivers should anticipate delays and increased travel time throughout the week. Be prepared because chain/tire restrictions are in place and travel is not advised in some areas during this time period. To check road conditions in real-time, click here.
