South Lake Tahoe, CA- The City of South Lake Tahoe has joined together with a dozen other organizations to help alleviate traffic concerns, especially on busy weekends.
"When people come to visit South Lake Tahoe we see all too often that Mother Nature doesn't cooperate, and one of the biggest problems we have is traffic," said Chris Fiore, Communications Manager for the City of South Lake Tahoe. "That's why this task force was formed, we wanted to know what more we could do to help fix that problem and keep people safe and happy."
The City joined forces with the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, CalTrans, California Highway Patrol and several other organizations to find ways to get information to the people who needed it before it was too late. One way, was to offer preemptive communications to hotel guests in town to make sure they know the best ways to navigate South Lake Tahoe and the rest of the basin on days when weather is bad.
See the flyer below that will go out to hotel guests across the area to help them better prepare for traveling when roads are busy, and the weather outlook is less than perfect.
"This is a small step, but a very important one. We want people to come to visit Tahoe and enjoy every aspect of their visit. Arming them with the right information at the right time is key to making that goal a reality," said Fiore.
