South Lake Tahoe, CA- SLTPD got reports of a reckless driver speeding down Lake Tahoe Blvd. around 5:00 yesterday afternoon. As officers tried to locate the suspect, they got reports the suspect's car crashed into another vehicle in a driveway near the 900 block of Macinaw Rd.
SLTPD officers responded to that area to find the suspect but the suspect was gone. The victims said he had taken off into the woods, but not before he threatened them with a knife and a gun.
No one was injured but officers quickly established a perimeter and deployed a K-9 unit into the wooded area where the suspect was last seen, but they couldn’t find him.
Officers got a warrant for his arrest and because of the nature of the call and the fact that the suspect was armed, the SLTPD SWAT Team went to his home around 10:00. When they got to his home, in the 2600 Block of Lake Tahoe Blvd., they found the suspect inside and arrested him.
44-year-old Michael Henson was booked into the El Dorado County jail on assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and felon in possession of a firearm.
