South Lake Tahoe, CA- The 4th of July Parade and Food Truck Park at Bijou Park will be here in one week.
The parade runs from Ski Run Blvd., down US 50, and ends on Al Tahoe at Bijou Park.
“Ski Run from Tamarack to US 50 will be closed starting at 8:00AM until about 11:00AM and there will be rolling closures as the parade moves through town,” said Ray Jarvis, Public Works Director, “We are asking people to use Pioneer Trail to get around that morning and to please be patient as they move through that area immediately following the parade.
Live music, incredible dancers, a 20-foot-tall eagle balloon, and more will make their way down US 50 starting at 10:00 AM on Independence Day. News 4 Morning Meteorologist Steve Bender will emcee the parade from the grandstand at Champions Plaza as thousands of parade participants look on.
“We’ll have bleachers at Champions Plaza for people who want to get the best view of the parade, but those seats are first come, first serve,” said Chris Fiore, Communications Manager for the City, “If you want the best seats, you’re going to need to get out there early.
Also, new this year, a Food Truck Park will end the parade at Bijou Park! Food vendors of all kinds will be there serving up delicious dishes to everyone who stops by. Parade goers planning to attend the food truck park should park in the lots at LTCC and then walk to the park.
“We’ll have tacos, BBQ, and all sorts of desserts,” said Fiore, “The best part, every food truck will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Tahoe Chapter of the American Legion.”
The American Legion has also started a Go Fund Me Page, and we are asking the community to make donations by clicking here.
