The COVID Complance Grant Reimbursement program, which pays local businesses for purchasing personal protective equipment, or PPE, was approved earlier this year. “We know this is a tough time for so many in our community, not only with some businesses forced to shut down during this crisis, but also with their efforts to keep their customers safe as they reopen,” said City Manager Joe Irvin, “We wanted to make this process as easy as possible for those doing their part to help in South Lake Tahoe.”

City council allocated $100,000 for this program. Businesses are asked to submit paid receipts, with pictures of their improvements to

The Locals EatSLT Restaurant voucher program was designed to help community members in need and local restaurants affected by the pandemic. People are eligible to get one $25 voucher able to be used at local restaurants. The vouchers are being distributed through local charities including food banks, Christmas Cheer, and the Family Resource Center.

“It’s more important than ever to make sure we are taking care of the people who call South Lake Tahoe home,” said Irvin, “We hope folks in need take advantage of this program and hope that it helps make their lives just a little easier.”

City Council allocated $50,000 for this program. Both programs end on September 30th.
