[ARCHIVED] Woman airlifted to Reno with severe injuries after hit and run

South Lake Tahoe, CA- A woman riding a Lime scooter Tuesday on Pine Hill Rd., was hit by a car. The vehicle struck the woman head-on, and the driver took off.

It happened around 5:45 PM in the 3300 block of Pine Hill Rd. Officers got there to find a 31-year-old woman from Alexandria, VA lying in the road with injuries that appeared to be severe.

South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue and Cal Tahoe Emergency Services Ambulance responded to the scene.  Her injuries were so severe; a Cal-Star medical helicopter took her to Renown Hospital for treatment. She is in stable condition. 

The investigation found the victim was riding the scooter west on Pine Hill, and the suspect vehicle hit her headed east. The car slowed, then fled the scene. 

A possible suspect vehicle was identified from video and witness statements. The car was a black Porsche Cayenne. The owner is cooperating with the investigation.  No further information is being released at this time.
