South Lake Tahoe, CA- The Saint Joseph Community Land Trust and Related California team have been selected to develop the Sugar Pine Village project on the California Tahoe Conservancy sites at the "Y."
For more information about the award go to sugarpinevillageslt.com, where you can learn more about the development team and also sign up for the project’s email list to stay up to date with announcements and public meetings. We are excited about moving forward to develop this project that will strengthen the community’s resilience and support the workforce and their families while also preserving and enhancing native species and sensitive land.
The project will provide much-needed workforce housing for South Lake Tahoe close to the high school, transit, trails, and offering ample open space. The project, as currently envisioned, will also include space for a family resource center, daycare center, and space for other community-focused non-profit organizations.
To kick off our outreach to the South Lake Tahoe community, we are scheduling a series of targeted Zoom meetings to gather input from key stakeholders before engaging in a wider engagement process with the greater South Lake Tahoe community. The following ZOOM meetings are scheduled:
- Tahoe Basin Environmental Organizations--August 20th, 5:30 PM
- South Shore Business/Employers--August 27th, 5:30 PM
- South Shore Neighborhood Organizations--September 3rd, 5:30 PM
After these targeted ZOOM meetings we will be scheduling outreach to the broader public within COVID-19 possibilities.
If you are interested in participating in one of these Zoom meetings, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please indicate which Zoom meeting you are interested in so that we can send the appropriate Zoom meeting invite.
