South Lake Tahoe, CA- The PPE reimbursement program to help local businesses get through the winter continues but the funds are running out fast.
City Council approved the Winter Operations COVID Compliance Business Protection Grant Reimbursement Program earlier this year. The program reimburses local businesses for PPE and the equipment they need to operate safely during the winter months.
“We are happy to see so many of our local businesses making use of this program to meet their needs,” said City Manager Joe Irvin, “If you want to participate you should get your information in quickly.”
The program provides reimbursements of fifty-percent of winter operations expenses up to $5,000. This includes things like outdoor heaters, tents, tables, etc. The program was funded with $75,000 but only about $24,000 remains. The program ends at the end of the month.
Businesses are required to submit receipts and pictures of the equipment they purchased to get the reimbursement.
The winter program is funded with money from the COVID Compliance Grant Reimbursement program, which paid local businesses for purchasing personal protective equipment, or PPE. That program was approved at the start of this pandemic.
“From the beginning of this pandemic the City has been steadfast in its support of the businesses that make up the backbone of our community,” said Mayor Tamara Wallace, “This program is one of many ways we have provided support during this pandemic.”
If you are a business who would like to get a reimbursement, email receipts, and photos to recovery@cityofslt.us.
