[ARCHIVED] One man killed in overnight shooting in South Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred overnight. On April 7, 2021 at about 1:00am, the South Lake Tahoe Police Dispatch center received numerous 911 calls reporting gunshots near Sierra Blvd and Alma Ave. Officers quickly responded to the area and located a male with numerous gunshot wounds. The male was transported from the scene to Barton Memorial Hospital and later pronounced dead.

A second male with a gunshot wound was also at the scene and was transported to Barton and is in stable, but critical, condition.  At this time, the location of the incident is still closed, and the public is being asked to stay clear while Crime Scene Investigators process the scene.

Since this homicide is being actively investigated, identities of involved parties are not being released. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at (530) 542-6100 and reference case# 2104-0544.

Update as of 12:25 pm: Per the South Lake Tahoe Police Department, there are no outstanding subjects at this time. Investigators are still working the scene and will have more information later today.
