South Lake Tahoe-In light of today’s tragedy in Southern California, the City of South Lake Tahoe is lowering all City flags in honor of the Los Angeles County firefighter killed at the Agua Dulce fire station.
“There is nothing that can prepare firefighters for the pain in dealing with the loss of a colleague who is killed in the line of duty, and the emotional scars never fully heal. Our hearts go out to our brother and sister firefighters in Los Angeles during these tragic and unnecessary times.” said Fire Chief Clive Savacool with South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue.
The tragic event occurred earlier this morning at approximately 10:53 am local time at Los Angeles County Fire Station 81 in Agua Dulce. An off-duty firefighter opened fire in the fire station and shot two fellow firefighters. A 44-year-old fire specialist was fatally shot and a 54-year-old firefighter was wounded but reported in stable condition.
City Flags will remain at half staff until Friday, June 4th, 2021.
