SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA, June 29, 2021- The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for critical fire weather conditions from 2:00 pm today until 11:00 pm PDT on Tuesday, June 29 for the Greater Lake Tahoe and Truckee Area. This means no open flames are allowed including gas and liquid propane gas fire pits/grills and pellet grills/smokers.
Thunderstorms are forecast to develop by late afternoon with storms and strong outflow winds persisting into the evening. Minimal rainfall is likely to occur allowing for a higher risk of dry lightning strikes. Outflow winds will likely exceed 40 mph.
