This employment opportunity is a temporary position. Under the general supervision of the Principle Community Service Officer, the Parking Enforcement Officer performs a wide variety of non-sworn police work related to enforcement of City ordinances.

Under the general supervision of the Principle Community Service Officer, the Parking Enforcement Officer performs a wide variety of non-sworn police work related to enforcement of City ordinances, codes, laws, regulations and validation programs pertaining to on-street and off-street parking, including interpretation and enforcement of protocols related to parking enforcement.

Parking Enforcement Officer is a journey level position assigned a full range of parking enforcement duties with minimal assistance or direction; work independently and exercise sound judgment in the application of policies and procedures related to issuing citations, towing, traffic control, and record keeping responsibilities related to parking enforcement. Incumbent is expected to become increasingly knowledgeable of state and city laws, ordinances, procedures and practices pertaining to vehicles, and parking enforcement
