The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is requesting assistance from the public to help identify a suspect, who attempted to rob the El Dorado Savings Bank located at 3443 Lake Tahoe Blvd, in the Bijou Shopping Center, at about 3:30 this afternoon. The suspect appears to be an elderly white male adult, possibly in his 70’s, approximately 5’-9” tall, thin, and clean shaven. The suspect has short hair and wore a baseball cap which was black in the front and white mesh in the back. The cap has unknown type lettering on the front. The suspect also wore a black hooded sweat shirt, a dark colored polo style pull-over shirt with thin multi-colored horizontal stripes under this, black shorts, white socks and black shoes. The suspect passed a demand note to a teller and then appeared to change his mind about following through with the robbery. No weapon was ever threatened or displayed.
