[ARCHIVED] South Lake Tahoe Roadwork Schedule for September 22nd-28th

While roadwork improvement continue in South Lake Tahoe, the City would like motorists to be aware of the following construction projects:

Lake Tahoe Basin Roadwork Schedule
Sunday through Saturday, Sept. 22-28, 2013

SPECIAL EVENT
Ironman Lake Tahoe takes place Sunday, Sept. 22. Northbound State Route 89 from Fairway Drive in Tahoe City to Squaw Valley Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Southbound State Route 267 from Northstar Boulevard to Kingswood/Commonwealth Drive in Kings Beach will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. State Route 28 in Kings Beach will be closed in both directions from Fox Street to the 267 intersection from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The Interstate 80 eastbound off-ramp to 89/267 (Exit 188B) and the 89/267 on-ramp to westbound I-80 will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) in South Lake Tahoe: Work continues on completing a $43 million water-quality and roadway improvement project from the Trout Creek Bridge to Ski Run Boulevard. Landscaping, striping and electrical work is scheduled for summer 2013. Completion is expected in early fall.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Trout Creek to Ski Run Boulevard: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating #2 lane and shoulder closures around the clock from midnight Monday until 11 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do landscaping work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) in South Lake Tahoe: Work continues on a $7.3 project from just west of Ski Run Boulevard to Wildwood Avenue adding curbs, gutters, sidewalks, new drainage systems and repaving the highway. Completion is expected by 2014.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Fairway Avenue to Wildwood Avenue: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane and shoulder closures around the clock from 11:30 p.m. Sunday until noon Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do striping, landscaping and electrical work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) in South Lake Tahoe: Work continues on a $12.1 million project from the "Y" intersection of Highways 50 and 89 to the South Lake Tahoe Airport adding curbs, gutters, sidewalks and new drainage systems and repaving the highway. Completion is expected by 2014.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Airport Road to the "Y": Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane and shoulder closures from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding and paving work.
