[ARCHIVED] Free Parking and Shuttles Available in 3 Locations for Olympian Celebration March 15

If you're planning on attending the Welcome Home celebration for local Olympians Jamie Anderson, Maddie Bowman and Hannah Teter on March 15, you're advised to take a free shuttle to Sierra at Tahoe Resort, as Sierra’s parking lots are expected to fill to capacity, and there are no overflow lots.

Shuttle service to the ski area is being offered from 3 locations: Meyers Downtown Cafe, the Lake Tahoe Environmental Magnet School located at 1095 East San Bernardino Avenue, and the Lake Tahoe Airport. Shuttles will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue southbound until 2:00 p.m.

Busses are running on a first come first served basis. Heavy traffic is expected which could impact bus routes and times, so getting on the early busses is recommended. If you do choose to drive to the resort, be advised that the parking lots are expected to fill up very early in the morning. Carpooling is encouraged and you must observe all laws and signs when parking in these locations. You may not park in fire lanes, tow away zones or block resident driveways.

Return service from Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort begins at 3:30 pm.

If you're planning on viewing the vehicle procession from South Lake Tahoe, it is leaving South Tahoe High School at 1:00pm. Community members can watch the procession and cheer for the Olympians along the route.
