[ARCHIVED] City Lifeguards Respond Quickly to Aid Injured 12-year at Pool

This afternoon, City Lifeguards at the public pool responded immediately when 12 year old Amy Castillo did not resurface after jumping off the diving board. While City Lifeguards rescued Ms. Castillo from the pool, other staff called 911.

Community Services Director, Stan Sherer witnessed the Fire Department team transporting Ms. Castillo to Barton and saw that she was conscious, vocal and moving. Barton later transported her to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Her condition remains unknown. The City pool was closed for a two hour period immediately following the incident, but has reopened to regular hours.
