[ARCHIVED] OpenGov Budget Portal Video

Here is the latest new video aimed at encouraging the public to take time to understand our budget.

Getting more public input into the budget process Often times we hear from the public they don’t understand the budget. Some months ago we mentioned that the City contracted with “OpenGov.” It’s a company started by some Stanford students who wanted to present municipal budgets in a manner more people could understand. The City’s finance staff sent our City budget data to Open Gov, they deposited the data into their software and host the info on their site. Every quarter the Finance department will send updated information to Open Gov, so anyone who wants to see the City’s budget and financial information has unfettered access to all of the budget information, online and in a user-friendly format.
