The City of South Lake Tahoe is currently recruiting for the position of Snow Removal Operator. The Snow Removal Operator-Temporary classification and the Senior Snow Removal Operator-Temporary classification are Temporary/Seasonal classifications; and employees in these classifications are at will and not eligible for regular employee benefits.
The City is actively seeking to fill several openings for the 2014/2015 winter season.
Under supervision of assigned supervisory or management staff, both classifications perform a variety of manual, semi-skilled, and skilled work in the removal of snow from city streets and city parking lots, and maintenance of other public services areas. Both classifications are full journey level positions in the Snow Removal Operator Temporary class series; performing the full range of semi-skilled and skilled work in snow removal on city streets, parking lots, and public services areas. Employees in these classifications receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and must be, or must become, fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.
