[ARCHIVED] Police Seeking Information on Multiple Burglaries

On October 22, 2014 at approximately 11:15 P.M. South Lake Tahoe Police Officers responded to a report of burglary at the Kmart Garden Center. Two suspects smashed the front door glass and attempted to steal the cash registers. The two suspects took an unknown amount of cash and fled the location on foot. Witnesses described the suspects as males wearing grey hooded sweat shirts. While officers were investigating this burglary the Police Department received an alarm activation call at Ponderosa Glass on Emerald Bay Road at 11:49 P.M. This location is a few blocks away from Kmart. Officers responded to this location and discovered this business had also had been broken into by smashing the glass in the front door. While searching this location for the suspects’ officers discovered an adjacent business associated with Barton Hospital, had the front door kicked in. The Glass Company reported a loss of approximately $200 in cash and it is unknown at this time what was stolen from the Barton Hospital location.

At approximately 8:00 A.M. on October 23, 2014 the Police Department received two reports regarding burglaries at the Enchanted Florists located on Emerald Bay Road and the Auto Bazar located on Lake Tahoe Blvd. Both locations are within close proximity to the other burglaries and had the door forced open by kicking or smashing the glass. An IPhone was stolen from the Auto Bazar and a lap top was taken from Enchanted Florists.

It is believed that the same suspects committed all five burglaries.
