[ARCHIVED] Now Accepting Applications for South Tahoe Action Team

The South Lake Tahoe Fire Department is accepting applications for the second session of STAT: South Tahoe Action Teams.

Classes will be held on Thursdays from 6pm-8pm, April 2nd – April 23rd at the Fire Department Training Center located at 1100 Al Tahoe Blvd.

This program is for community members to be trained by the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department as responders during times of crisis.

Curriculum will include 8 hours of instruction taught by members of the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department. Applicants will be expected to commit their time and will be called upon in times of natural disaster, large scale emergencies and times of need in the South Lake Tahoe area. We will also need STAT team members to be well versed in our command structure, emergency first aid, lifting/moving techniques, use of extinguishers, flood safety and building collapse.

Two additional sessions will be offered later in the year during the following dates:

Session #3: June 4 - June 25, 2015
Session #4: September 3 - September 24, 2015
