A Construction Kickoff Meeting will be held to discuss the City of South Lake Tahoe’s Sierra Tract Erosion Control Project, Phase 3 & 4, on June 30, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center (Gymnasium) at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd., South Lake Tahoe CA.
Construction of the Project is scheduled to commence in early July, 2015. Construction of the Project will occur throughout the 2015 and 2016 summer construction seasons. The construction contractor for the Project will be available to answer questions regarding construction activities and schedule. The public is encouraged to learn more about this important project to reduce erosion and sediment discharges in to the Upper Truckee River and Lake Tahoe.
The project is located in the northwestern portion of the Sierra Tract neighborhood (see map below). The project includes various water quality improvements including construction of intermittent curb and gutter, new storm drain pipe and drain inlets, infiltration systems, and infiltration basins. All construction activities will occur within the existing public right-of-way (roadway) or on publicly owned parcels.
