South Lake Tahoe Fire Department Blood Drive in honor of 9/11
Thursday, September 10, 2015, 9:00am – 1:00pm
The South Lake Tahoe Fire Department will be hosting its second Blood Drive on Thursday, September 10th from 9am to 1pm at Fire Station #3 located at 2101 Lake Tahoe Blvd. To schedule an appointment, contact Kim George at (530) 307-9596 or log on to www.BloodHero.com, select “Donate Blood” and enter sponsor code: SLTF.

Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting
Thursday, September 10, 2015, meeting begins at 9am
Attend the upcoming Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on Thursday, September 10th at 9am in the City Council Chambers located at 1901 Airport Rd. Commission meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 9am in the City Council Chambers. For more information call (530) 542-6056.

Planning Commission Meeting
Thursday, September 10, 2015, meeting begins at 3pm
Attend the upcoming Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, September 10th at 3pm in the City Council Chambers located at 1901 Airport Rd. The Airport Land Use Commission meeting will immediately follow the Planning Commission meeting. Commission meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 3pm in the City Council Chambers. City Council Meeting
Tuesday, September 15, 2015, meeting begins at 9am
Attend the upcoming City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at 9am in the City Council Chambers located at 1901 Airport Road. 50th Anniversary Event – Parade & Party at the Park
Saturday, September 19, 2015, parade begins at 10am
The City of South Lake Tahoe will be hosting a 50th Anniversary Parade on Saturday, September 19, 2015. The response to the parade has been outstanding and the City has received more than 85 entries and over 300 walkers in the parade. The parade route has changed and will begin at 10:00 am at the 'Y' and will proceed East on Highway 50, turn right onto Al Tahoe Blvd. and end at Bijou Community Park where the city will officially open and dedicate the Bijou Bike Park with a “Party at the Park.” We anticipate the parade to conclude at Bijou Community Park at 11:30am.

The following activities are planned:
10am Parade starts at the “Y”
11:30am Parade ends at Bijou Community Park
12:30pm Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Bijou Bike Park
1pm Bijou Bike Course open to public
1:30pm SLT Police 'Bike Rodeo' for kids
2 to 3pm Jump Jam on slopestyle line with World class athletes
3:30pm BMX Race starts
All day 4th Annual Deep Blue Derby Tournament, hosted by the Sierra Regional Roller Derby

Firefest
Saturday, September 26, 2015
This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 26th at the South Lake Tahoe Airport from 10 am to 3 pm. Firefest is a free annual event that highlights fire and life safety for children and families. Helicopters will star at Firefest as they land at the SLT Airport. Come sit in a fire truck, escape from the Smoke House, wear firefighting equipment, squirt fire hoses, play in a bounce house, meet Smokey Bear and Sparky, watch fire departments compete, learn about fire resistant construction and enjoy a Kiwanis BBQ!
