[ARCHIVED] One Injured in Drive-By Shooting

On October 14th at about 11:57pm, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department received a report that a 19-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was at Barton Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was standing near a residence in the area of Ski Run Blvd. A vehicle drove by and at least one shot was fired from the vehicle and struck the victim in the leg. The vehicle left the area. Later, police located a vehicle in the area of the “Y” (US Hwy 50 and SR 89) that was believed to be the suspect vehicle. No suspect was located. At this time this shooting does not appear to be a random act. Police are continuing the investigation at this time. The victims condition is unknown, but the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
